NOTE: MLC is NOT currently accepting new student volunteer placements, as our volunteer pool is full. We will re-open our recruitment program when placements become available in the future. We do, however, encourage you to apply to other community legal centres, if you have a genuine interest in supporting the community through volunteering.
Volunteer solicitors, with at least 1-2 years’ experience in our key areas of practice, are still welcome to apply.
Are you interested in gaining experience and helping your community?

Practical Legal Training (PLT) Placements
We provide a limited number of formal PLT placements each year. As a general rule, we recruit our PLT students from our pool of ‘advice’ session volunteers.
We sometimes require volunteers to assist with specific research projects. As a general rule, we recruit our research students from our ‘advice’ session volunteers. We may also advertise specific opportunities, from time to time.
Volunteer solicitors attend during our weekly advice sessions (Tuesdays 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Thursdays 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm), to provide telephone and face-to-face advice to clients. Solicitor volunteers must have at least 1-2 years’ post admission experience in one of our major areas of practice.
